Environment/Economic Assessments (E2E)
This project, funded entirely by the Trust, is targeting ten dairy and sheep & beef farms across Hawke’s Bay, selecting farmers who are committed to change.
The first phase is to complete a holistic economic and environmental assessment of the overall farming system for each farm, measuring all inputs and outputs, modelling how various interventions might improve performance, and then monitoring the outcomes from changed or alternative practices. This will be a multi-year project, using the E2E model developed by consultant Barrie Ridler, and hopefully expanded to additional farms as resources permit.
Four E2E assessments have been completed, examining the operations of farms owned by Willie White, Nick Dawson, Greg Hart and Will Foley.
Communicate to the Trust if you would like your farming operation considered for an E2E assessment.
